Black Panther' passes $1 billion global box office mark ,Movie 2018

According to the Hollywood Reporter, this feat has only been accomplished by four other Marvel movies: "The Avengers," "Age of Ultron," "Iron Man 3" and "Captain America: Civil War."

Some moviegoers are calling the movie making it into the billion-dollar club a big win for diversity.

As Black Panther trended on social media Saturday, people took to Twitter to rally for the film, its cast and the message it sends to Hollywood executives about greater representation of people of color in films and other media.
