The Fastest Review: The Flash Delivers a Thrilling Superhero Adventure with Emotional Depth

The Flash review: Ezra Miller in a still from the latest DC movie.
Stepping back into Zack Snyder's DC Universe, I didn't expect to feel this delighted. Not just because of the merits of Andres Muschietti's The Flash, but also the feeling and familiarity of returning to this world. Beyond the merits of Andres Muschietti's The Flash, I didn't expect to feel this delighted stepping back into Zack Snyder's DC Universe. Returning to this world, the interpretation of Alfred, Bruce Wayne, the Batcave, and beyond, it all adds to the excitement. Essentially a sequel to Snyder's Justice League, The Flash captures the essence of the DC Universe. Barry Allen, portrayed by the inimitable Ezra Miller, offers what may be the most affecting DC hero performance since Henry Cavill in Man of Steel. He's adjusting to his new superhero life and relishing his newfound Justice League friends. In a fun opening set piece, we witness Barry being called to Gotham to assist Batman, played by Ben Affleck, in dealing with some bad guys.
